Karoon Monfared is the Chief Executive Officer of BusPatrol America, a leading North American public safety technology company advancing school transportation, student safety, and law enforcement outcomes through AI-enabled computer vision.
Since joining BusPatrol in 2020, Karoon has led the rapid scaling of the company’s safety platform, deploying AI-powered vision technology on more than 40,000 school buses across 400+ school districts in 23 U.S. states and Canada. Under his leadership, BusPatrol has grown from an early-stage venture into a category-defining technology platform with over 650 employees, protecting over 2 million students every day with its market-leading solutions.
Karoon believes responsible AI can strengthen public safety by turning data into prevention. He champions transparent, privacy-forward technology that earns trust and delivers measurable safety outcomes for districts, communities, and law enforcement. He oversees all aspects of the company’s strategy and operations, driving a culture grounded in BusPatrol’s safety mission, customer service, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Under Karoon’s leadership, BusPatrol continues to evolve beyond school bus stop-arm enforcement into a comprehensive roadway safety partner to help communities build safer roads and smarter cities.
In addition to his role at BusPatrol, Karoon serves on the Board of Directors of Everdriven, a private equity-backed specialized student transportation provider, and is a Trustee of the Farhang Foundation. Prior to BusPatrol, he built a track record as a proven operator of technology businesses, successfully leading and scaling multiple technology platforms. Karoon began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. A proud Bruin, he lives in Southern California with his wife and two young sons.
