The Opportunity

Reporting to X, the Asset Manager is essential in the accounting, tracking and communication of our finished goods products effecting all aspects of deployment.  This person will ensure that the office functions of reporting and accounting for product kits, tools, materials and subcomponents are accurately meeting scheduled  objectives for cost, accuracy, timeliness, and control for BusPatrol’s Product Development Department and our Customers.

The successful candidate will be effective in working autonomously and cross-functionally with high-level asset management acumen, attention to detail and a bias for action.  This person will be the owner of asset management functions related to Product Development and Field Engineering & Services across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware assets
  • Monitor and record hardware assets to make sure they comply with deployment needs, financial policies of the company and with vendor contracts through the use of MS Office, Wrike, Salesforce and NetSuite.
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach to enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the Asset Management Database (AMDB) throughout their lifecycles
  • Ensure effective management of the AMDB and that the content contained is accurate and timely
  • Assist in the development of KPI/Metrics and standardized analytics & reporting to meet the needs of cross-functional business teams and business management
  • Take part in various projects, providing support to Product Development & Engineer
  • Manage inventory of hardware assets, including dependencies and attributes, making sure that the modifications, withdrawals, and additions of existing assets are correctly recorded and accounted-for
  • Responsible for managing lifecycle of hardware and software models from their introduction to their retirement
  • Generate and distribute various reports, including compliance reports on current assets and their status including lifecycle performance trend analyses
  • Perform periodic verifications and audits of AMDB content; confirm hardware assets with actual inventory, and initiate corrective actions and track them
  • Ensure process efficiencies by implementing the key performance indicators
  • Monitor availability of critical components in the supply chain and mitigate risk accordingly
  • Assist in the design of processes related to hardware asset management then executing and enhancing them with cross-functional teams
  • Establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration management
  • Maintaining and performing tasks that effectively support to product development and field engineering operational activities, assets and redundancy readiness
  • Execute governance and strategic asset management function
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performance
  • Perform research on industry best practices and incorporate it with organizational practices

What You Bring:

  • Ability to effectively work in a team construct and communicate with other cultures
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical hardware or 5 years of experience working as an asset analyst in IT or complex technology product environment
  • Ability to apply a strong attention to detail and basic accounting principles to asset, storage and shipping costs using a variety of tools such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience working with business services that support Product Develop or Manufacturing or Technical Field Services
  • Proven ability and experience in executing strategic asset management processes successfully
  • Strong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently
  • Excellent at performing multiple tasks at the same time without erring
  • Strong communication, analytic and presentation skills
  • Location: Remote (Eastern, Mid-Western or Southern US and Canada) Travel:  Occasional, limited travel as needed for relevant customer, vendor, and BusPatrol’s training, etc.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a combination of experience,skills and technical acumen in asset management considered
  • Bilingual in French preferred.
