Project Manager & PMO Lead

**While the job is remote within the North East of US, the ideal location is Boston, MA**

Responsibilities:

The PMO Lead will be responsible for building out the PMO function to support our rapid growth.  You will partner with executive sponsors and senior leadership to define, build and operationalize our cross-functional project management process. In addition, you will set BusPatrol standards for organizational excellence and will be responsible for transforming departments to meet those standards.

  • “Activist PMO lead”: Develop BusPatrol’s project intake, management, and operating model that will coordinate cross-functional projects
    • Set standards for what projects get formalized
    • Develop process and tools for how those projects get managed and communicated to executives
    • Interface between board, executives and project leads
    • Flag project risks and help coordinate solutions
  • Develop and Champion a “BusPatrol Operating Model”
    • Assist with cross-functional tool selection (e.g., sharepoint, Wrike, and Confluence)
    • Define how those tools are used
    • Drive continuous improvement agenda and culture (e.g., plan, facilitate, co-lead continuous improvement events – e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Agile)
    • Move departments along the maturity curve to achieve “best in class” standards
    • Coach / train leaders and employees on continuous improvement principles and practical application

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership and influential management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills
  • Strong understanding and experience applying fundamental lean and continuous tools to achieve tangible results
  • Capable of influencing across a broad organization and gaining cooperation and action from others
  • An open, direct, and respectful communication style with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Treats everyone with respect, dignity, and multi-cultural sensitivity. Acts with transparency and fairness in all transactions with customers and employees (i.e. customer relations, hiring, coaching, employee development)
  • Strong knowledge with Wrike planning software is a plus

Education & experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in project management and/or consulting
  • PMP certification, Six Sigma experience / training (e.g., Black Belt) are a plus
  • Practical experience with a PMO or similar organization for a mid-size company
  • Experience with corporate operating system (e.g., Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, Danaher Business System or similar) rooted in a culture of continuous improvement is a plus
